ADIS ATTENDS UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI 2019 OPEN DAY

The African Dryland’s institute for Sustainability (ADIS), in the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences (CAVS), was privileged to participate at the University of Nairobi OpenDay that lasted from 16th to 19th of January 2019.

The occasion was grazed by an Envoy from Portugal, Her Highness Rouper, who has launched a programme to extend Portuguese language classes to young Graduates and Kenyan Scholars within the University of Nairobi and grow diplomatic engagement and academic partnership between Kenya and Portugal. Her highness proceeded to share her message of sorrow with Kenyans who were grieving over the recent terror attack.

The African Drylands institute was able to present its Vision which is; Sustainable Dryland Ecosystems and prosperous societies. Through various projects implemented by institute (ADIS) and other partner Organizations and Academic Institutions, the mission of the institute was presented which was focusing on; contributing to sustainable dryland ecosystems and improved livelihoods through innovative transdisciplinary education, research, partnerships, policy, dialogue and community outreach initiatives.
