KOECH OSCAR KIPCHIRCHIR

Mr. Oscar Koech is a PhD Fellow in Drylands Resource Management at the University of Nairobi (UoN). He is a graduate of MSc. Range Management (Livestock production) from the University of Nairobi. He also has a BSc. Range Management (First Class Honors) from UoN.

Mr. Koech is currently a Tutorial Fellow, University of Nairobi, College of Agriculture and Veterinary sciences, Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology, Range Management section. He has worked as a Consultant for World Vision Somalia on certified holistic Rangeland management and disaster risk reduction in Puntland and Somali land. He has also worked as a Consultant for Action Aid- Food security assessment for project planning and design to implement food security projects in Isiolo, Mbeere and Kitui.

MARY MORARA

Ms. Morara an agriculturalist is currently undertaking a PhD in Dryland Resource Management at the University of Nairobi (UoN). She has a BSC in Agriculture from UoN, postgraduate diploma in planning and management of development from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and MBA-marketing from Kenyatta University. She has vast knowledge in agriculture extension having worked with Ministry of Agriculture for more than ten years.

Morara currently holds the post of Interim Agriculture Sector County Coordinator-Nairobi County.

JUDITH  SYOMBUA  MBAU

Ms. Mbau is a PhD student at the University of Nairobi (UoN) undertaking a Dryland Natural Resource Management course. She holds an MSc.  Biology of Conservation from UoN. Ms. Mbau has a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Botany from UoN.

Ms. Mbau has more than ten years of experience as a research Scientist at the Museums of Kenya. She is currently a Research Scientist, and Head, mammalogy Department, National Museums of Kenya.

 

STALINE KIBET.

Mr. Kibet is currently undertaking a PhD in Dryland Resource Management at the University of Nairobi. His proposed research area is: Influence of Land use Dynamics on Plant Functional Traits and Ecosystem Services in Semi-Arid Savanna in northern Kenya. He did his MSc. Botany at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. His thesis was Human Disturbance and its Impact on Vegetation Structure, Composition and Regeneration of Kenya Coastal Forests (A Case Study of Kaya Mudzimuvya Forest). Kibet holds a BSc. Range management from the University of Nairobi.

Mr. Kibet has fifteen years of experience as a Researcher scientist serving in different organizations and departments. He is currently the Principal investigator/Project Manager Smithsonian Institution Global Earth Observatory (SIGEO/CTFS) Mpala Long-term Monitoring Plot Project. He also heads Documentation and Information Management section at the National Museums of Kenya.

 

ELHADI YAZAN MOHAMED

Mr. Elhadi is a PhD student pursuing a Dryland Resource Management course at the University of Nairobi. He holds an MS.c Range Management from the University of Nairobi (UoN). He did his BSc. Agriculture Economics and Rural Development from the University of Kordofan, Sudan.

Mr. Elhadi has more than five years of experience as a researcher in a number of organizations. He currently heads the Socio-economic section, SEDPA LIMITED, Nairobi, Kenya. He is also a part time Lecturer at the University of Nairobi.

 

PERIS MWERU KARIUKI

Ms. Kariuki is a PhD Student in Dryland Resource Management, University of Nairobi. She holds a Diploma in Project Management from the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM). Peris has a Masters in Environmental Science from Kenyatta University. She holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from Kenyatta University.

Ms. Kariuki has more than nine years of quality experience as a Research Scientist. She is currently working as a Research Scientist at the National Museums of Kenya.

DR. PATRICK MWAMBI MWANYUMBA

Dr. Mwanyumba is pursuing his PhD from the University of Nairobi. He is currently undertaking a research on pastoral livestock herds, trade, utilization and value addition. He completed his MSc. Livestock production system in 2010 from the University of Nairobi. He holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from UoN

He has 26 years of experience in veterinary serving in different capacities in different departments/organizations. He is currently the Senior Assistant Director/ Breeding Division at Kabete Veterinary Department Headquarters.
