CSDES RECEIVES 120 BOOKS FROM UNDP

Prof. J.T.Njoka, CSDES Coordinator looks through some of the books donated to the Centre by UNDP

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) recently donated 120 books to The Centre for Sustainable Dryland Ecosystems and Societies (CSDES) with an aim of equipping students and faculty to better respond to the challenges affecting dryland ecosystems and societies.

CSDES was established with the sole purpose of producing high-performing graduates and quality demand-driven research that contributes to more sustainable and productive dryland ecosystems and societies. 

“This generous donation of books marks a great milestone in enabling the Centre achieve its objectives, said Prof. J.T Njoka, CSDES Coordinator. “ It is my sincere hope that the books will help to enhance relevant action research that builds human and institutional capacity for sustaining and improving ecosystems and human livelihood in Kenya.”

The list of the books donated is available here . Everyone interested in using any of the books is encouraged to visit the Centre at the department of Land Resources Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT), College of Agriculture & Veterinary Science, University of Nairobi.
