Ahmed M. Musa is a Somali national. He holds Master’s degree in Public Administration and Management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, both from Kampala International University, Uganda and PGD in Peace and Conflict Studies from University of Hargeisa, Somaliland. Mr. Ahmed worked for Somaliland National Electoral Commission (NEC)/Interpeace as a Training Manager, ActionAid International Somaliland as a Livelihoods Manager, Observatory of Conflict and Violence Prevention (OCVP) as the Head of Research and Data Analysis Department. Mr. Ahmed worked with Peace Research Institute Oslo Norway (PRIO) as a lead researcher on Business for Peace (B4P) project. He also served as a Consultant for Progressio and Caritaz in Somaliland. He has lectured in Admas University College, Beder International University and Civil Service Institute (CSI) in Hargeisa, Somaliland. He is currently a PhD student for Drylands Resource Management at the University of Nairobi (CAVS/UoN) under Governing Economic Hubs and Flows in Somali East Africa (GOVSEA) research programme. His research focuses on Trade, Transport and State Formation under conditions of limited statehood: the case of selected consumer goods in the Berbera corridor. His research will contribute to the literature on trade, governance and state formation.
