CAPACITY BUILDING ON VALUE ADDITION OF LIVESTOCK
The African Drylands Institute for Sustainability (ADIS), University of Nairobi, in partnership with the Kenya RAPID program of the Millennium Water Alliance facilitated a 5-day online training on value addition of livestock and livestock products, held 17-21 August 2020. The training targeted county staff and private sector players in the livestock value chain, from Wajir, Garissa, Turkana, Isiolo, and Marsabit counties. The purpose was to enhance their skills and knowledge on the value addition of specific livestock products and ultimately boost their technical know-how on agribusiness.
The online training was funded by the Kenya RAPID program - one of the leading projects of the Millennium Water Alliance. Through its County Capacity Building Fund and in partnership with key stakeholders like ADIS, the KRAPID is focusing to strengthen the technical capacity of county staff in northern Kenyan, where the Kenya RAPID program operates. Over 40 participants benefited from the training.
